Want to change your life DRAMATICALLY like these bold capitals? Want to feel happier, more joyful and energetic? New Years resolutions all but forgotten and you’re already back to sleeping in instead of going to the gym, back to your sugar filled latte and the blender is already gathering dust? Habits are hard to change. ESPECIALLY when we try to change them all at the same time. We get overwhelmed, frustrated and say ‘SCREW IT’ and go back to the way we were cause it’s easier to be in bed with the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
I know ONE trick that will help with all of this. Your trick to success in your life, business, relationship, health, spirituality etc. Are you ready for this trick? Think you can handle the simplicity of it and not brush it off because you’ve heard it before and it seems too good to be true? Prepare your ego to be tamed.
Ask yourself these two questions (or some form that resonates with you) every morning:
What can I do in the next 24 hours to achieve _______? How do I want to feel While achieving ______?
Then from there plan your day around those two simple questions. You can break them down into categories if you like, for example: What can I do in the next 24 hours to achieve more vitality and energy, achieve greater connection to my spouse/partner, greater financial freedom, spiritual awareness? Then how do you want to feel while trying to achieve those, for example: feel excited and enthusiastic to have more energy, feel loved and loving towards my spouse/partner, feel abundant in the world, feel peace from higher source even during hard times. Check out my post I did on the importance of feeling here.
When you focus on ONE thing you have an easier time achieving it. You’ll feel less frustrated and overwhelmed and more likely to keep trying because it’s only ONE thing and you can do ONE thing. Everything else you do on top of this one thing is just icing on the cake. Pat yourself on the back and tell yourself good job, you did it! When you don’t (because sometime it’s not a tangible, check off the list type thing) give yourself a pat on the back anyway for trying. There is no room for ruthlessly beating yourself up, that only makes it worse!
EXTRA CREDIT: Write in on a white board above your desk, or put it in your calendar, on a sticky note on your wallet, somewhere you can see it all day long to remind yourself of what your daily goal is.
As Jillian Michaels says, “Transformation is not a future event!” If you want to make a change in your life, start today, right now. This is the only time you have because tomorrow is never guaranteed!
